Australia
was a in the 1970s was a time for improvements and change that affected the
entire country. The 70s were filled with new advances like technology, fashion,
social trends and were completely different to how we live our lives today.
Children were always outside and had lots of new social trends from yo-yos and wooden
seesaws to the kids TV show, “The Thunderbirds” (Browne, 2014). Sport for women
was also rising and an example of this was Evonne Goolagong, the famous Australia tennis player (Sport and the media, 2008). The political change was especially memorable when the Governor General fired the Prime Minister, Gough Whitlam, creating the popular quote, "God save the Queen". During this time, families were also beginning to all have televisions that, instead of being black and white, were in colour. From this evidence, it can be said that the
70s was the time for drastic dressing and bold opinions, these opinions were
mainly based on the disagreements of war and violence.
